Roger Matthews
Non-executive Chairman and Chairman of the Nomination Committee

Roger was appointed as non-executive Chairman of MITIE Group PLC on 31 July 2008, having previously been appointed as non-executive Director in December 2006. Roger previously held the roles of Group Finance Director of J. Sainsbury PLC and Group Managing Director and Group Finance Director of Compass Group PLC. Roger serves as non-executive Chairman of both Land of Leather Holdings PLC and LSL Property Services PLC. 

Ian Stewart
Non-executive Deputy Chairman

Ian was appointed as non-executive Deputy Chairman on 30 March 2007 having previously held the position of Chief Executive since 2001. Ian was a founding member of MITIE. He is non-executive Director of Generation (UK) Limited.

David Jenkins
Senior Independent non-executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee

David was appointed as non-executive Director in March 2006. Prior to retirement in May 2004, David was a senior Partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP in London having spent over 20 years in Assurance and Advisory Services. David is Chairman of Development Securities PLC and serves on the Board of Renewable Systems Limited. He is a Governor of Downe House School.

Graeme Potts
Non-executive Director

Graeme was appointed as non-executive Director to the Board in July 2006. Graeme has extensive experience of the automotive retail and business services sectors having held previous directorate appointments with Inchcape PLC, RAC Motoring Services and Reg Vardy plc. He currently holds a non-executive Directorship with BEN, the Motor & Allied Trades Benevolent Fund and is Chairman of Bikers Legal Defence Limited.

Terry Morgan
Non-executive Director, Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and member of the Nomination Committee

Terry was recently appointed Non-Executive Chairman of Crossrail. From 2002 to May 2009, he was Chief Executive of Tube Lines Limited, which is responsible for the maintenance and upgrade of infrastructure on the London Underground. Prior to joining Tube Lines, Terry held posts at BAE systems, Rover Group PLC and Lucas Girling Ltd. In 2004, Terry was appointed a Director of Invest in Thames Gateway London Ltd and, since 2006, Terry has been a non-Executive Director at M J Gleeson Group PLC, where he is the Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and member of both the Audit and Nomination Committees.

Larry Hirst                                                                                                                                     Non-executive Director, Member of the Audit Committee

Larry is currently Chairman of IBM Europe, Middle East and Africa and has held a number of senior positions during his career with IBM over the past 32 years. He was previously General Manager, IBM Northern Region and Chief Executive IBM UK & Ireland for six years and has had management responsibility for operations in the US, Europe, and South Africa. Larry is also Non-Executive Chairman of UK Trade and Industry Technology Board, Chairman of e-skills Sector Skills Council, a Commissioner of the UK Commission for Employment and Skills and a UK Business Ambassador.
