MITIE Skill Centres

Our Skill Centres have been hailed as a revolutionary new way to tackle the vocational skills shortage facing the UK - bridging the gap between education and employment. With eight Skills Centres now supporting young people across the UK, we're helping to ensure a bright future.

The Real Apprentice

Our Real Apprentice scheme is now in its fourth year and just keeps getting bigger and better. The scheme is a ten-week training programme, targeted at our disadvantaged communities – often located close to wealthy business communities.

Open to everyone over 18, the scheme takes away the barriers to employment faced by people from disadvantaged areas.  Following a strict screening process, the apprentices undergo an intensive week off-site preparation involving communication, team and confidence building seminars and workshops.  The apprentices are then placed in operations on our contracts. So this could be learning about reprographics at PricewaterhouseCoopers, or getting to grips with the latest bird control techniques with our pest control business.
