What was our client looking for?

Darlington Borough Council recognised that the covered market was in
need of a makeover and were looking for a company to decorate ornate
woodwork and metalwork. They needed a team who had the specialist
skills required for sign writing on fascias and could also do the extra
preparation work needed before painting to deal with the corroded cast
iron columns and guttering.

How did we help?

The market signs all had an intricate colour scheme, using 3 tone colours.
Our team are experts in this kind of detail and matched the existing
decoration in the market by re-writing all the signs by hand. A new
pedestrianised road and footpath made access to the site difficult but we
overcame these problems by using additional mobile towers and mobile
platforms - allowing quick and versatile access. We also made sure that
additional protection was provided to protect the new paving. Due to
constant trading Monday- Saturday all works were carried out on Sunday’s
so we didn’t disrupt market traders or shoppers.

The results

Darlington covered market has been transformed back to its former glory.

Even better, we completed the works with minimal disruption to trading
and even completed the job ahead of schedule.
