What was our client looking for?
The NAO was looking for a partner to assist them in achieving the following project milestones: Value for money for the NAO; Cost certainty; achievement of a one team approach with the project team; to facilitate integration with the NAO; Provision of high quality catering for the café, restaurant, vending and hospitality; Establishment of a good understanding of NAO’s building users; Integration with the contractors implementing the refurbishment of the building, and overseeing commissioning; Assistance with achievement of ISO14001; Support and guidance to help meet its CRC targets.
How did we help?
Through early engagement with NAO’s senior management, giving MITIE an in-depth insight into NAO’s strategic and operational headquarters requirements: We quickly mobilised a senior engineer to site, five months prior to building occupation, in order to oversee the commissioning and gain an understanding of all the new M&E equipment; Phased mobilisation with full run through with the new team prior to the NAO moving in; Launch of the MITIE service including catering, and NAO corporate events at their newly refurbished premises.
Areas of concern could be rectified before the building was opened for staff; Multi-skilled operatives trained across a variety of disciplines have been introduced,allowing the team to be self-covering; Flexibility – we have redeveloped the catering offer to provide a service offering better value for money.
