Built-up felt system
Removal of M&E
What was the client looking for?
Mitie was awarded a major re-roofing project at the University of Portsmouth which included the Anglesea Building, Burnaby Building and the library roof.
How did we help?
The university has 24,000 students on campus, so health and safety is of paramount importance. 30 roofing operatives were on-site at any one time with a full time project manager and contract supervisor.
The project involved the complete recovering of 7,500 square metres of flat and barrelled roof areas using a built-up felt system. This included insulation, walkway surfacing and lightning conductor tape. In addition, profiled steel insulated composite panels and single skin sheeting was installed to a number of roof areas.
A major roofing refurbishment project completed safely, on-time and to budget, with a 20 year warranty.
