09 July 2015
Mitie, the facilities management company, has picked up The Diversity Award at the annual British Insurance Awards ceremony held at the Royal Albert Hall last night in London.
A completely new category, The Diversity Award was introduced this year to recognise the work of organisations going above and beyond to inspire and bring about a positive change within the insurance space.
Celebrated for over 20 years, the awards have attracted entries from some of the insurance sector’s leading organisations across 26 categories all eager to take home the prize which is widely recognised as the industry’s “unrivalled rivalled badge of excellence.”
Finalists alongside Mitie in the Diversity Award category included AIG UK, Inclusion@Lloyd's, The Chartered Insurance Institute, Weightmans and Zurich Insurance.
Lee Sadowski, Director of Mitie’s Property Solutions business said:
“We are absolutely delighted to have won this year’s Diversity Award and would like to thank the BIA and the judges for recognising our passion and commitment towards encouraging diversity in business and the wider community.
“Mitie Property Solutions is a relatively new business in the insurance sector but I believe we bring a fresh perspective to service delivery for our clients.
“Our people are from all walks of life with a wide range of experiences and we try to harness this to provide our claimants with a personable, first class service that is reflective of today’s diverse society.”
Karen Govier, Group Diversity and Inclusion Manager, said:
“This is a brand new category for 2015 and to be recognised for diversity amongst such prestigious organisations is amazing. We are thrilled!”
