Decentralised energy
Decentralised strategies for local energy generation.
Decentralised energy means generating power close to where it will be consumed. It makes good economic, social and environmental sense, and it’s set to make a key contribution to the UK’s low-carbon economy, as a real alternative to the grid.
We’re experts in community-scale energy, developing assets that produce electricity and heat for organisations and communities. Our capabilities extend from identifying new opportunities, to developing on-site energy centres and managing long-term supply contracts.
Our customers include hospitals, universities, supermarkets, and housing. They all have very different needs, and we adapt our approach to ensure they get the service that’s best for them. Our range of low-carbon technologies includes high-efficiency CHP, biomass fuels, and waste-to-energy.
We aim to give you the best possible combination of performance and cost over the lifetime of the contract, which can typically be up to 15 years. There’s a range of financing options we can discuss, some of which allow you to avoid capital costs altogether. And in many cases we can arrange for you to sell any surplus energy to other businesses and homes in your area.
The bottom line is long-term energy availability and security, at a price you can predict and afford. Being able to deliver that through our whole range of capabilities is what makes MITIE a leading energy company.
