Day-today running costs for data centres are rising rapidly as higher fuel prices impact on energy-intensive power and cooling. Achieving greater energy efficiency is the single most important way to manage down these costs, and it will also help reduce your carbon emissions and improve your sustainability performance.

We specialise in improving data centre efficiency. Our expertise in energy management and infrastructure development can help cut your power consumption and improve your power usage effectiveness (PUE).

In fact we’re currently completing the largest financial services data centre project in the UK, where we will achieve a PUE of only 1.3. We’ve also developed 7MW of highly-efficient power generation capacity for Verizon, a leading provider of global IT,security, and communications.   

Enhancing the efficiency of your existing facilities doesn’t necessarily require capital outlay. For Cable & Wireless we designed, supplied, and installed 800 new energy-efficient computer room fans, which we now maintain for them. These will deliver guaranteed energy savings of 8,221MWh, equivalent to over £690,000 a year. We’re funding the£1.9m capital cost, which will be repaid by Cable and Wireless over the contract term.
