Talent and development

What we've focused on

We have continued to focus on leadership and have added sections on recruitment and talent mapping to our Guide to being a Mitie manager

We have also launched two fantastic new tools for our people to take ownership of their career development:

  • The learning zone: a bespoke eLearning platform available to all our employees.
  • Our career pathways website was launched allowing Mitie employees to explore the multitude of roles available.

Challenge Board
As part of our commitment to developing our people and ensuring that we offer the greatest operational efficiency to our clients, we developed our first ever Challenge Board. The Challenge Board consists of representatives from across the business and every quarter they meet with Ruby McGregor-Smith to discuss issues that are relevant to all parts of the business.

Board members are early career high potential people and have a responsibility to feedback information from their peers and to provide a vital link between the Executive Board and everyday operations.

Looking ahead
Over the last year, we invested heavily in setting up the tools for our people to take ownership of their career and development. We will be concentrating on getting the message out to all our people to make sure the systems are used extensively. We will be developing team briefing templates and collateral as well as organising roadshows to publicise the benefits of all these tools.

The Learning Zone

Mitie has developed it's very-own training portal 'The Learning Zone'
