Governance and management
Our governance framework keeps our sustainability strategy on track, making sure we are focusing on material issues, and are properly accountable for the way the strategy is put into practice.
MITIE operates through a number of autonomous divisions, each with its own board of directors.
All of our divisions have a sustainability management system in place that follows the principles of the ISO14001 standard. Our sustainability management systems include procedures to manage sustainability at each stage of our services offering, including on site delivery, account management and marketing communications.
Our QHSE team, along with our sustainability steering group maintains and reviews the sustainability management systems.
We align our environmental reporting with that which it prepares annually for the Carbon Disclosure Project; classifying our emissions into scopes 1, 2 and 3 and providing more consideration as to where these emissions occur. Our focus has been to develop a robust data management process that allows for more careful management decision making on how our facilities, and our use of them, impact upon our global environment.
The detailed analysis, guidance adopted and success to date in achieving our reduction targets is provided in our Environmental Report
