We pride ourselves in being an inclusive company, which means recruiting and developing the best talent for the job, regardless of disability.
When it comes to disability, we’re committed to providing our disabled employees with the same opportunities as our non-disabled people. And while we’ve made good progress in this area, we know that there’s always room for improvement, and that we can do lots more to attract, recruit, and develop disabled talent. So, to help us, we’ve partnered with Remploy, an organisation that exists to improve the lives of disabled people and those with complex needs by supporting them into the working world.
Our work with Remploy
Since 2011 we have supported over 330 people through our partnership with Remploy, last year supporting a tremendous 107 people across the UK within our various divisions.
Mitie have recently recruited a Mitie Cleaner in Newcastle upon Tyne (NE1) who has experienced Mental Health challenges. After facing a number of barriers to finding work, with the support and help from Remploy and Mitie, our new colleague is excelling in their role.
Remploy also partner on our Ready2Work programme operated by the Mitie Foundation. Through this we have been able to provide quality work experience and on occasions jobs to disabled and disadvantaged job seekers.
