Transforming interior landscapes at Network Rail

With a unique and vibrant refurbished training centre in Westwood, Coventry, Network Rail sought a leading interior landscapes company who were able to reflect the company’s image in their interior plants displays; as such, our British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) award winning interior landscaping team designed and implemented displays to meet Network Rails requirements.

How did we help?

We began by designing interior office plant displays to compliment the overall style of the training facility including lechuza pots with a white gloss finish which were used in the breakout and training areas to compliment the modern interior used in the décor. Polystone pots were placed inside the building to match the concrete material used for the construction of the main building.

The training facility also encompassed a separate area built for accommodation and catering, the theme of this building included more natural materials, wood floors and wall coverings. To compliment this theme, our interior landscaping team used polystone pots but adapted the design to create a more rustic ‘rock’ style finish; the consistent use of polystone pots maintained the overall theme with the unique style finish creating a sub-theme to match the accommodation and catering building.

The results

We provided an excellent solution based on the needs and requirements of Network Rail, the choice of interior office plant displays enhanced the overall look of the various locations which fulfilled their requirements.

As a result of our interior landscapes work at Network Rail, we were awarded a silver award in the design and installation category at the 2015 European Federation of Interior Landscape Groups (eFig) awards, the judges gave a special commendation to praise the knowledge and dedication Mitie’s plant care technicians displayed.
