Working with the Met Office to design and continually adapt our unique forecasting model to suit the needs of our customers, and we are the only organisation in the UK to be awarded the prestigious Met Office “Gold” quality mark for a full 5 years. Our specialist 5-day rolling forecast is based on the very latest data from the Met Office’s powerful computer weather prediction system and gives us an early indication of the conditions ahead.

The most important part of the gritting process!
Once we arrive on site we will undertake a visual risk assessment before activity can begin. Our people will be asked to complete a short health and safety questionnaire on their PDA to confirm that they are properly equipped and understand the risks involved in the task ahead.
They will grit larger areas using the vehicle-mounted spreaders at a rate of between 10 and 40g/m2. Once complete, they will safely park their vehicle and begin gritting smaller, more inaccessible areas by pedestrian spreader or, in very confined spaces, using hand tools. On completion of gritting activity, we will carry out a visual assessment of the site and obtain a signature of satisfaction from the person in charge. Our people will sign off the project as complete on their PDA, creating an individual database record which you can then see, in real-time on our customer portal

Our advanced work scheduling and business management system “SAFE” combined with our on-line client portal 'Live Landscapes', and our Go-Grit mobile app provides you with 24/7 access to your planned and historic gritting activity.
In addition to the customer website, you will have access to Mitie’s award winning 24/7 help desk and a dedicated gritting email address. You’ll also have a dedicated account management team headed by a key account manager who will care for your contract and be your regular point of contact.
