Mitie installs 850+ EV chargers across the UK and Ireland
Mitie has installed over 850 electric vehicle (EV) charge points for customers across the UK and Ireland, with 10 installed at Royal London’s office in Alderley Park. Using its sustainability and fleet management expertise, Mitie is also helping Royal London maintain and manage its EV charge point infrastructure to support its decarbonisation goals. These customer charge points are in addition to over 1,000 EV chargers already installed at Mitie’s own sites and at its employees’ homes, to support the switch of its entire fleet of vehicles to electric.

Mitie Business Boost marks third year with digital growth drive
Mitie Business Boost returns for the third year with a £40,000 prize fund to support digital and tech-driven growth in West Cumbria, with applications opening 1 September 2025. Entrepreneurs and small businesses will receive free mentoring, expert-led workshops, and access to a local innovation network. The initiative aligns with Mitie’s Plan Thrive strategy, which aims to uplift one million lives and transform 1,000 places, and Sellafield’s social impact multiplied programme (SiX).

Mitie makes a splash with new Yorkshire Water contract
Mitie has been awarded a new three-year contract to deliver grounds maintenance services for Yorkshire Water. As part of the contract Mitie will deliver landscaping services including grass cutting, hedge maintenance, tree management, weed control, adverse weather services, and sustainable drainage systems management. Mitie will bring its ‘Live Landscapes’ intelligent technology to the contract.

Mitie’s environmental leadership recognised with top ESG ratings
Mitie has been awarded an ‘A’ score from CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), the highest rating available, in recognition of its leading approach to carbon reporting and environmental management. It has also received a ‘Platinum Award’, the highest ranking, from the Sustainable Facilities Management Index (SFMI). Mitie is one of only 219 companies to have its sustainability goals validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Mitie is using solar to help Essex schools cut their carbon
Mitie has supported Essex County Council with the installation of roof mounted solar panels at 15 schools across the county. The panels will generate 700,000 kWh of energy, equivalent to powering 185 homes a year, saving 180 tonnes of CO2 and around £115,000 annually. A further 28 school sites and council buildings will also have solar panels installed over the next 3 months, saving an additional 220 tonnes of CO2 a year.
