Mitie appointed as supplier on Carbon Energy Fund National
Mitie has been appointed as a supplier on the Carbon and Energy Fund (CEF) National Framework Agreement for the provision of Carbon and Energy Infrastructure Upgrade Services. CEF was created to help NHS and public sector organisations upgrade their energy systems in more cost-effective ways. This appointment supports Mitie’s mission to decarbonise Britain, a commitment to use its expertise to help other organisations achieve their own sustainability objectives.

Mitie goes for gold with top CO2 reduction rating
Mitie awarded Gold Certificate by Masternaut for its achievements in reducing fleet CO2 emissions. 770 tonnes of carbon saved in 2018 as a result of Mitie’s fleet initiatives. Mitie has committed to transitioning 20% of its small van and car fleet to electric by 2020 – this will save a further 4,000 tonnes of CO2 a year.

Mitie awards an extra day of holiday to more than 25,000 frontline heroes
Mitie has awarded an extra day of holiday to over 25,000 Mitie colleagues as a thank you for their work during COVID-19. A number of new benefits have also been introduced to ensure Mitie employees have access to the health and well-being support they need to deal with the Coronavirus pandemic. The new benefits include access to free virtual GP consultations and flu vaccinations.

Mitie marks 5,000 electric vehicles milestone
Mitie has welcomed its 5,000th electric vehicle (EV), equating to two-thirds (66%) of its fleet. The vehicle was unveiled at its Shard headquarters, and will be used by mobile engineers working across Mitie’s government contracts in London. Mitie is at the forefront of the UK’s sustainable transport shift, as one of only a handful of British businesses to reach this landmark.
