Mitie hits annual ESG targets putting it on track to meet 2025 goals
2022 ESG report released detailing how Mitie hit all 13 ESG targets for the year, putting Mitie on track to meet its overall 2025 ESG goals. Environmental highlights include saving customers 375,000 tonnes of carbon across 800 sites and cutting 11,000 tonnes of CO2 by expanding EVs to more than a third of the Mitie fleet. Procurement team ensures 50% more diverse suppliers, with VCSE spend doubled to reduce inequality in the supply chain. 1,000 apprentices now employed across 60 programmes to drive social mobility.

Meet our people: Jerry’s fighting fire on Ascension Island
No two days are the same for Jerry Williams, who works as a firefighter as part of Mitie’s contract with the UK Ministry of Defence Strategic Command on Ascension Island. It’s an isolated but strategically-located 33.97 square mile landmass in the South Atlantic Ocean. Jerry shared his experiences working for the UK’s leading facilities management company.

Mitie backs Billion-pound challenge to procure with purpose
Mitie is supporting The Buy Social Corporate Challenge as part of a group of 30 major UK businesses which have spent a landmark £250 million procuring services and products from social enterprises. New figures reveal the challenge has already helped to create 2,700 jobs in an ongoing programme from Social Enterprise UK.

Mitie to provide key services to 19 Coronavirus Mobile Testing Units
Mitie to operate 19 Coronavirus Mobile Testing Units across England and Wales. The Units run from nine of the Regional Testing Centres Mitie currently operates in Ashford, Bournemouth, Deeside, Ebbw Vale, Gloucester, Llandudno, Newbury, Salisbury and Penrith. Services include driving the Mobile Units used for carrying the testing supplies to and from the testing locations, installing the site’s equipment and cleaning and security services.

Mitie on display with new Tate partnership
Mitie has secured a £21.5 million contract to provide 24-hour security and customer services across four Tate locations including Tate Britain and Tate Modern. 275 colleagues will transfer to Mitie, providing specialist services like event and gallery security and remote monitoring. This marks the latest heritage and culture protection contract in Mitie’s portfolio of museums and galleries to date.
