Mitie awards an extra day of holiday to more than 25,000 frontline heroes
Mitie has awarded an extra day of holiday to over 25,000 Mitie colleagues as a thank you for their work during COVID-19. A number of new benefits have also been introduced to ensure Mitie employees have access to the health and well-being support they need to deal with the Coronavirus pandemic. The new benefits include access to free virtual GP consultations and flu vaccinations.

Mitie goes for gold with top CO2 reduction rating
Mitie awarded Gold Certificate by Masternaut for its achievements in reducing fleet CO2 emissions. 770 tonnes of carbon saved in 2018 as a result of Mitie’s fleet initiatives. Mitie has committed to transitioning 20% of its small van and car fleet to electric by 2020 – this will save a further 4,000 tonnes of CO2 a year.

Phoenix Group consolidates IFM contracts with Mitie
Mitie has been awarded a new contract with Phoenix Group to deliver integrated facilities management (IFM) services across its UK sites. As part of the five-year contract, Mitie will provide a range of specialist services, including its ‘Connected Workspace’ and decarbonisation services, in a deal worth £62m. Mitie enhances security operations at Sellafield with new contract
Mitie has secured a new five‑year contract to continue delivering critical security services at Sellafield, Europe’s largest nuclear facility. By providing a dedicated Intelligence Analyst within Mitie’s national intelligence centre, the contract will enhance data sharing among key stakeholders, on site and throughout the UK’s nuclear estate. A new Nuclear Security Centre of Excellence will be established to set consistent national standards for nuclear security in terms of recruitment and training.
