Mitie secures new contract with Department for Transport
Mitie has been awarded a new £297 million contract with the Department for Transport (DfT) following a competitive procurement process. Building on its existing 12-year partnership with DfT, Mitie will deliver integrated facilities management (IFM) services including cleaning, security, energy management and planned and reactive building maintenance across over 800 of DfT’s sites nationwide. The new contract will see Mitie introduce innovative technology to support DfT in meeting its decarbonisation goals.

Mitie provides FM at Central London Community Healthcare NHS
Mitie has secured a contract worth up to £68.5 million with Central London Community Healthcare NHS (CLCH) to provide facilities management and catering services. The integrated FM contract covers 290 sites in London and Hertfordshire and includes security, cleaning, compliance, help desk support, pest control, catering and estate management. The contract reflects Mitie and CLCH’S commitment to sustainability and social value through the deployment of electric vehicles and enhanced access to apprenticeship opportunities.

Mitie to put University of Essex on course to reach net zero goals
Mitie is supporting the University of Essex to reach its net zero goals with a new decarbonisation consulting contract. With a series of audits across three campuses and innovative data-led forecasting, Mitie will set out how the University can reach net zero Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 2035. Mitie’s Plan Zero consultants will use 3D digital modelling software to understand how buildings will respond to different low and zero Carbon solutions.

Mitie acquires Cliniwaste, a sustainable healthcare waste company
Mitie has acquired Cliniwaste, experts in the specialist treatment of waste in healthcare environments, turning plastic waste into a reusable resource. Cliniwaste embraces specialist and sustainable recycling processes, using steam and pressure to sterilise clinical plastic waste that would previously have been incinerated or placed in landfill. Cliniwaste will complement Mitie’s existing support for the NHS, helping to achieve its sustainability targets.

Mitie Spain builds security services Biservicus Group
Mitie Spain has acquired Biservicus, a security business specialising in the installation, maintenance, surveillance and operation of fire, security, and alarm systems, based in the Canary Islands, Spain. With the accreditation and licences to provide security services across the whole country, the addition of Biservicus will enable Mitie Spain to build its security capabilities. Biservicus brings 30 years of expertise in the security sector, with 200 specialist colleagues joining the Mitie team.
