Mitie expands mobile telecoms capability with the 8point8 acquisition

Mitie Group plc (“Mitie”) announces today that it has acquired 8point8 Support Limited, 8point8 Training Limited and Vantage Solutions Limited (collectively “8point8”), a leading provider of design and construction services in the UK, predominantly for mobile telecoms tower infrastructure. Total consideration is £10m and the acquisition will be accretive to earnings and funded through existing facilities.

Facilities Transformation leader Mitie rolls out 32 automated cobots at Europe’s largest airport. Sustainable cobots can clean area the size of eight football pitches every day with just 18 litres of water. The cobots have proved a huge hit with passengers and staff alike, providing a distraction for young passengers during check-in.

Mitie extends FM partnership with North Cumbria Care NHS Trust

Mitie has extended its 26-year Facilities Management partnership with North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC), delivering critical services including cleaning, maintenance, security, patient catering, and portering services. The contract will see a further rollout of Mitie’s smart portering service to support day-to-day tasks, including delivering key equipment and waste management. Mitie will provide engineering apprenticeship opportunities over the year and dedicate up to 1,000 volunteering hours to support the local community and healthcare charities.
