Mitie named as a transport supplier for Crown Commercial Service

Mitie has been named as a supplier on the Transport Technology Framework to support UK public sector organisations with integrated transport solutions including transport consultancy and electric vehicle charge point installation services. The agreement, which runs for eight years, includes transport data services, low emission vehicle charging, and environmental monitoring. With a fleet of over 6,300 Electric Vehicle’s Mitie will use its experience in fleet electrification and charge point installation to help public sector clients develop and deliver low emission transport strategies.

Mitie acquires Cliniwaste, a sustainable healthcare waste company

Mitie has acquired Cliniwaste, experts in the specialist treatment of waste in healthcare environments, turning plastic waste into a reusable resource. Cliniwaste embraces specialist and sustainable recycling processes, using steam and pressure to sterilise clinical plastic waste that would previously have been incinerated or placed in landfill. Cliniwaste will complement Mitie’s existing support for the NHS, helping to achieve its sustainability targets.

Mitie secures IFM contract with the Intellectual Property Office

Mitie has secured a new £12 million three-year contract with the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) to provide integrated facilities management services across its two sites in Newport, Wales. Mitie will bring new technology, innovation and efficiencies to the IPO’s estate and is committed to helping the IPO meet its net zero goals. Mitie is also supporting the Newport region through social value initiatives like ‘spring cleans’, hosting careers fairs at local schools and increasing recruitment from the local community into apprenticeships in FM.

Mitie wins Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust contracts

Mitie has secured an £11.8 million contract with Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT), supporting patient-centric services across five healthcare sites. The contract includes cleaning, reception, security, waste management, shuttle bus operations and patient catering, plus service enhancements such as click-and-collect catering and smart portering technology. Jobs and apprenticeships will be created for local residents as well as a commitment to 300 hours’ volunteering each year to uplift lives, through mentoring, education and supporting local healthcare charities.
