Mitie named ‘Fleet of the Year’ at Green Fleet Awards
Mitie has won the ‘Private Sector Fleet of the Year (Medium to Large)’ category at the Green Fleet Awards 2020. The award recognised Mitie’s progress in transitioning its entire fleet[*] to electric vehicles, with over 800 already in its fleet.

Mitie named Most Admired Company in the Support Services sector
Mitie has been named the most admired Support Services Company at the 2024 Britain’s Most Admired Companies awards. Mitie’s CEO, Phil Bentley, joined other British business leaders on the panel at the prestigious awards event at the London Stock Exchange. Mitie also ranked fourth overall as well as being awarded Silver Certificates for leadership in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Effective Use of Corporate Assets, and Bronze for Positive Contribution to Society.

Mitie lands new waste contract with Nottingham NHS Trust
Mitie has secured a new three-year contract with Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust to deliver clinical waste management services. Mitie will use innovative autoclave equipment that treats waste with high pressure steam which can then be recycled, which is a more sustainable method than the traditional high temperature incineration process. Mitie’s specialist clinical waste business, Cliniwaste, will be central to the delivery of the contract.

Mitie awarded Disability Confident Leader status
Mitie has been awarded Disability Confident Level 3 – Leader status, the highest level of the UK Government’s Disability Confident scheme, recognising its leadership in disability inclusion. Led by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the Disability Confident scheme supports employers to recruit, retain and develop disabled people and those with long-term health conditions. The recognition demonstrates how disability inclusion underpins Mitie’s wider commitments to supporting people facing barriers to employment into sustainable work.

Mitie secures five-year HMRC facilities management contract
Mitie has secured a five-year facilities management contract with His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), worth £130 million. Across 28 sites up and down the UK, Mitie will provide a range of specialist services to support the maintenance and upgrades of HMRC’s buildings. The contract builds on Mitie’s existing partnership with HMRC, having delivered security services across its entire UK estate since 2019.

Mitie has awarded an extra day of holiday to over 25,000 Mitie colleagues as a thank you for their work during COVID-19.
