Mitie secures IFM contract with the Intellectual Property Office
Mitie has secured a new £12 million three-year contract with the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) to provide integrated facilities management services across its two sites in Newport, Wales. Mitie will bring new technology, innovation and efficiencies to the IPO’s estate and is committed to helping the IPO meet its net zero goals. Mitie is also supporting the Newport region through social value initiatives like ‘spring cleans’, hosting careers fairs at local schools and increasing recruitment from the local community into apprenticeships in FM.

One in five say their employers should do more to keep them safe
Research from Mitie reveals that one in five (19%) Brits think their employers should be doing more to keep them safe. This rises to more than a quarter (27%) of those aged 18-34 and to over a third (36%) of people who work outside of traditional hours or commute in the dark. In response, Mitie has announced a package of employee wellbeing initiatives, including a pioneering partnership with personal safety app, WalkSafe, to help organisations support the personal safety of their employees.

Mitie launches Plan Zero Fleet Transition Service to support businesses looking to make the switch to electric vehicles. With a holistic viewofthe EV transition and whole life cost approach, the service will deliver a zero emissions fleet for zero cost. The service builds on Mitie’s EVexperience, having rolled out over 500 electric vehicles and installed 600charge points in less than a year.
