Mitie’s 250th electric vehicle delivered to Heathrow Airport
Mitie’s 250th electric vehicle – a Nissan e-NV200 van – is on the roads at Heathrow, supporting the airport’s goal to establish an airside ultra-low emissions zone by 2025 and become a zero-carbon airport. The van joins the 200 electric cars and 49 electric vans already part of the Mitie fleet – 17 of which are based at the Airport. Charge point infrastructure and model availability continue to be biggest barriers to electric vehicle rollout.

Wave of WFH fatigue hits the UK: 43% of workers affected
More than half (52%) of British employees currently working from home (WFH) are ready to return to the office, with 43% admitting to WFH fatigue. Over a third (35%) are still concerned that their offices are not COVID secure. Mitie Landscapes boosts greener cities with Plan Zero City Landscaping
Mitie has launched a new Plan Zero City Landscaping Service, specifically designed to limit environmental impact in cities and urban areas. The service will support customers with net zero ambitions, by ensuring zero landfill waste, zero single-use plastic and will only operate electric vehicles and battery-powered equipment. The launch is another step towards Mitie achieving its Plan Zero commitment of reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2025. This is the 550th electric vehicle, meaning that Mitie is three-quarters of the way to meeting its 20% by 2020 goal.

Mitie helps Essex schools cut their carbon with solar panel rollout
Mitie has supported Essex County Council with the installation of roof mounted solar panels at 15 schools across the county. The panels will generate 700,000 kWh of energy, equivalent to powering 185 homes a year, saving 180 tonnes of CO2 and around £115,000 annually. A further 28 school sites and council buildings will also have solar panels installed over the next 3 months, saving an additional 220 tonnes of CO2 a year.

Mitie charges ahead as 50% of fleet goes electric
Mitie announces it has transitioned 50% of its fleet to electric vehicles. This milestone sets Mitie on track to meet its target of fully electrifying its fleet by the end of 2025. Mitie now operates more than 3,500 electric powered vehicles, as one of the largest electric fleets in the UK.
