Mitie on track with new five-year TfL partnership
Mitie has secured a new five-year contract, with Transport for London (TfL). Mitie will provide mechanical, electrical, fabric and fire safety maintenance at critical head office sites and key transport hubs across London, as well the London Transport Museum. This partnership builds on Mitie’s existing relationship with TfL which provides security services to the transport body.

Mitie pledges £1.1 million for UK engineering apprentices
Mitie has committed to gift £1.1 million of its Apprenticeship Levy funds to SMEs across England since 2021. Through this gifting, Mitie will support 70 new apprenticeships, many of which are new roles and mainly technical apprenticeships. Mitie’s apprenticeship strategy targets key skills gaps in the industry, such as committing to support 15 new Installation Engineer Apprenticeships.

Mitie strengthens risk capabilities with ISO 31000 validation
Mitie has attained confirmation that it is operating in accordance with ISO 31000:2018, showcasing its commitment to maintaining high-quality risk management practices. The validation comes following a rigorous independent auditing process across the business which assessed over 350 pieces of information. This builds on Mitie’s risk management credentials, having attained ISO 22301 certification in March last year.

Mitie awarded new £150 million MOD facilities management contract
Mitie Defence Ltd has been awarded a new £150 million contract by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO). The contract will provide a range of facilities management services such as maintenance, repairs and services as well as waste disposal and laundry services. This contract will introduce new asset management technology to improve the lived experience of those on site.

Mitie Landscapes backs No Mow May to support biodiversity
Mitie is supporting the ‘No Mow May’ campaign which promotes biodiversity by postponing some of the lawn mowing for one month. Mitie customers, covering 50 sites across the UK, have already committed to leaving some of their grass alone for the month of May. By supporting the campaign, run by conservation charity Plantlife, Mitie and its customers will be supporting more attractive environments for pollinators and encouraging biodiversity.

Mitie teams up with Crimestoppers to help keep communities safe
Mitie Security has partnered with the charity Crimestoppers to help keep communities safe across the UK by encouraging anonymous crime reporting. The partnership is the first of its kind, with Mitie sharing anonymous data on criminal behaviour to create incident reports to support police investigations. With crime affecting businesses, families and communities in the UK countryside, the initiative will start by focusing on rural crime by creating a dedicated cross-industry Steering Committee.
