Mitie named SRAG Ambassador for inclusive recruitment
Mitie has been awarded Ambassador Level status under the Social Recruitment Advocacy Group (SRAG) Chartermark for its inclusive recruitment and community support. Mitie is one of only four organisations to achieve Ambassador Level status, a recognition that highlights Mitie’s leadership in creating employment and apprenticeship opportunities for underrepresented groups across the UK. This achievement follows the launch of Mitie’s Plan Thrive initiative, a commitment to uplift one million lives and transform 1,000 communities by 2028, and recognises the work of the Mitie Foundation which contributed to delivering £316 million in social value during FY25 alone.

Shoppers concerned about Covid safety as they return to the shops
Most Brits are still nervous about heading to the high street, with 73% worried about visiting shops and cafés without visible Covid-19 measures in place. More than half (53%) of adults say they will only go into shops with visible Covid measures in place, such as air ventilation, UV technology and increased cleaning regimes. Consumers will spend around half an hour longer in stores and cafes with measures in place.

Mitie has kicked off National Apprenticeship Week with its 2025 Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony. With six awards up for grabs, the event recognises the efforts of apprentices, their managers and champions across Mitie. Mitie is committed to providing meaningful career development for its colleagues, with over 1,500 apprentices currently in Mitie’s workforce.

Mitie continues support for Welsh Government’s net zero goals
Following a competitive tender, Mitie has successfully retained its contract with the Welsh Government to continue to deliver Facilities Management (FM) across its 21-building administrative estate. Since the previous contract began in 2018, targeted initiatives have further reduced carbon emissions across the estate by 49%. Mitie will continue to build on this by reducing the carbon emissions by at least a further 5% over the potential life of the contract. £17.2 million will be invested into the local supply chain and the equivalent of over 16 years of apprenticeship training will be available to colleagues from the local community.

Mitie Group earns prestigious health and safety award from RoSPA
Mitie Group has won a coveted Gold RoSPA award for demonstrating commitment to health and safety through its LiveSafe programme. This marks the first year that Mitie has been recognised in its entirety as a group, having previously won Gold Awards for individual business units including Security, Communities and Waste last year, as well as a President’s Award for ten consecutive years of Gold certifications for its Sellafield nuclear site in 2023. The internationally recognised RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest running of its kind, receiving almost 2,000 entries annually and awarding organisations, teams and projects for their unwavering commitment to protecting lives.

Mitie has won a three-year contract to deliver security services for Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK’s leading ports group. The contract will see Mitie deliver security services, including staffed guarding and passenger searches and screening, for all of ABP’s 21 ports in England, Scotland and Wales.

Mitie soars to new heights with NATS contract
Mitie has secured a new five-year multimillion pound contract to deliver integrated facilities management services for NATS, the UK’s leading provider of air traffic control services. During the five-year contract, Mitie will provide services including engineering, security, cleaning, logistics, energy services and projects. Mitie will deliver these services UK-wide at a range of sites including main air traffic control service centres, communication, navigation and surveillance (CNS) sites, and airports.

Mitie races ahead with new BMW Group contracts
Mitie expands its relationship with BMW Group, securing a new engineering and energy contract and an extension to its existing cleaning contract. Expansion follows a 10-year partnership with BMW Group, the premium vehicle manufacturer. The two contracts will cover a total of 11 sites across the UK and Ireland, including manufacturing plants.
