Series two of The Mitie Podcast takes listeners behind the scenes

The Mitie Podcast returns for another season following the award-winning success of its debut series. The second series will explore some of UK’s most high-performing places, including Heathrow Airport, Boulby Underground Laboratory – the only deep underground science facility in the UK – and Mitie’s Intelligent Security Operations Centre (ISOC) in Northampton. The first of the four episodes is available now, with subsequent episodes to be released weekly on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Music.

Mitie takes off with extension at London City Airport

London City Airport has extended Mitie’s security contract for another two years. Mitie’s Security division will help protect the 5 million passengers that pass through the airport annually. Over 60 employees working on the contract have been uplifted to London Living Wage.

Custom Solar helps Pets at Home achieve sustainability goals

Custom Solar, part of Mitie, has completed the installation of a new 1.25MWp roof-top solar photovoltaic (PV) array at Pets at Home’s new National Distribution Centre, which will supply products to the national pet care brand’s 450-plus stores. The solar solution will reduce carbon emissions by over 221 tonnes a year – the equivalent annual energy use of over 80 homes. The contract, worth approximately £1 million, has seen Custom Solar manage the design, development and installation of the solar array to help Pets at Home meet its carbon reduction targets.

Mitie’s environmental leadership recognised with top ESG ratings

Mitie has been awarded an ‘A’ score from CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), the highest rating available, in recognition of its leading approach to carbon reporting and environmental management. It has also received a ‘Platinum Award’, the highest ranking, from the Sustainable Facilities Management Index (SFMI). Mitie is one of only 219 companies to have its sustainability goals validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
