Mitie unveils sustainability and social impact-led supplier charter

Mitie has launched a new Sustainability and Social Value Supplier Charter designed to build collaboration with suppliers of all sizes to deliver lasting benefits for people, communities and the environment. The Charter focuses on five priority areas including Climate Action, Inclusive Employment and Community Engagement, supporting Mitie’s Plan Thrive goals. Mitie will work with the Supply Chain Sustainability School, which offers structured learning pathways, workshops, and supplier summits, to support suppliers on a three-year journey to a Gold-Level accreditation.

Mitie is supporting The Buy Social Corporate Challenge as part of a group of 30 major UK businesses which have spent a landmark £250 million procuring services and products from social enterprises. Mitie named SRAG Ambassador for inclusive recruitment

Mitie has been awarded Ambassador Level status under the Social Recruitment Advocacy Group (SRAG) Chartermark for its inclusive recruitment and community support. Mitie is one of only four organisations to achieve Ambassador Level status, a recognition that highlights Mitie’s leadership in creating employment and apprenticeship opportunities for underrepresented groups across the UK. This achievement follows the launch of Mitie’s Plan Thrive initiative, a commitment to uplift one million lives and transform 1,000 communities by 2028, and recognises the work of the Mitie Foundation which contributed to delivering £316 million in social value during FY25 alone.

Mitie’s 2025 ESG report showcases bold progress on social impact

Mitie’s latest ESG report reveals it has met or exceeded key targets for the last Financial Year (FY25), demonstrating strong leadership in environmental performance, inclusive employment, and responsible supply chain practice. As part of its Plan Zero commitment, Mitie reduced its net Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 22% and now operates over 6,000 electric vehicles – 74% of its UK fleet. Mitie also delivered over 32,000 volunteering hours and supported more than 1,500 apprentices across 90+ programmes during FY25.

Mitie’s ESG report shows positive strides towards a sustainable future

Mitie’s latest ESG report outlines the positive progress towards ambitious goals across its four social value pillars – Environment, People, Community, and Responsible Supply Chain. Through its ongoing commitment to ESG, Mitie has met or exceeded the majority of its targets in FY23, accelerating the business towards its overall goals for 2025. Key highlights include supporting 1,100 apprentices, nearly 1,000 new electric vehicles, the validation of net zero targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and more than 19,000 hours of community volunteering.
