Mitie secures contract with Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust

Mitie Care & Custody has won a new five-year contract to deliver a fully integrated Liaison, Diversion and Healthcare service for Merseyside Police, NHS England and NHS Improvement. Mitie will work with Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust to deliver a range of healthcare services for vulnerable people in custody and court, including forensic procedures and specialist assessments. The service will cover Youth, Magistrates, Crown and Complex Case Courts and over 100 police cells across Merseyside, providing additional support for voluntary attendees and vulnerable people in custody.

Mitie boosts armed forces support with additional paid leave

Mitie has increased its support for the armed forces by introducing ten days paid leave annually to support its reservists fulfilling their service commitments. The new commitment builds on several initiatives aimed at Mitie’s community of Armed Forces, Reservists and veterans.

Andy Street officially opens Mitie’s state-of-the-art Midlands Hub

Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands, has officially opened Mitie’s Midlands Hub in Bickenhill, Birmingham. As well as the base for Mitie’s Central Government & Defence business, the Hub is also home to Mitie’s Cleaning and Hygiene Centre of Excellence (CHCE), which showcases the latest innovations in cleaning science and technology. Mitie has over 3,800 colleagues based in the West Midlands, including 70 local apprentices.

More than half (52%) of British employees currently working from home (WFH) are ready to return to the office, with 43% admitting to WFH fatigue. Over a third (35%) are still concerned that their offices are not COVID secure.
