Mitie appointed to NHS London Procurement Partnership FM Framework
Mitie has been appointed by the NHS London Procurement Partnership (NHS LPP) to a new Total Facilities Management Framework to support the provision of facilities management services. This agreement enables Mitie to bid on contracts across six lots, covering hard, soft and total facilities management, cleaning, catering and security services. Mitie’s four year agreement with NHS LPP enables it to tender for contracts across England.

UK’s first zero emission gritting service launched in Nottingham
The UK’s first zero emission gritting service for commercial use, using a 100% electric gritter, has been launched in Nottingham city. The service is being used to grit several supermarkets and Nottingham’s tram network. The EV gritter is being trialled by Mitie Landscapes to help businesses in the area stay safe in wintry conditions while limiting their impact on the planet.

Mitie is supporting the UK’s fight against the Coronavirus pandemic by providing key services at five COVID-19 test centres in Penrith, Inverness, Bournemouth, Perth and Llandudno. The services delivered at the test centres include clinical waste management and security services, such as traffic management and lane support.

Mitie grows landscaping services with the acquisition of Biotecture
Mitie has acquired Biotecture, a leading specialist in designing, building and maintaining ‘living walls’ for interior and exterior urban landscapes. The acquisition expands Mitie’s services to include vertical landscaping, alongside its traditional services. The addition of Biotecture supports Mitie’s commitment to be the greenest landscaping provider and support its customers in achieving their sustainability ambition.

Mitie secures £250m Sellafield contract
Mitie has been awarded a contract to deliver Sellafield’s new Integrated Asset Care (IAC) framework as a 50/50 partnership with Jacobs, under the OneAim joint venture. The five year contract will be worth up to £250m and will see Mitie deliver specialist services such as the installation and maintenance of the site’s infrastructure and equipment. This contract builds on a long-standing relationship between Mitie and Sellafield, with the partnership spanning nearly 20 years.

Mitie appointed to Net Zero Carbon Delivery framework
Mitie has been appointed as a supplier on the new Net Zero Carbon Delivery framework, created by ETL – a subsidiary of Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. The framework was created to help public sector organisations, including hospitals, schools and research centres, implement zero carbon technologies. This appointment is part of Mitie’s Plan Zero commitment to use its expertise to help other organisations achieve their own sustainability objectives.

Mitie drivers support the transition to Electric Vehicles (EV)
New survey* of Mitie electric vehicle (EV) drivers finds they’re supportive of the transition, with 91% glad they switched to electric. Financial savings and environmental benefits top the list as the most popular aspects of driving an EV. Issues around public charging infrastructure are a downside for half (50%) of EV drivers and the biggest area of concern for those waiting to get their new vehicle.
