Mitie secures new multi-million pound IFM contract with BAE Systems
Mitie has secured a new multi-million pound contract to provide integrated facilities management services to BAE Systems, covering 26 sites across the UK. A five-year contract, with the option to extend for a further two years, Mitie will provide a full suite of FM services, including building maintenance, cleaning, reception, waste management, landscaping, mailroom, and energy management. Mitie will also bring its industry leading technology to the contract.

Mitie acquires connection provider Rock Power Connections Ltd
Mitie has acquired Rock Power Connections Limited, an Independent Connection Provider, specialising in the design and installation of new high voltage electricity supplies, the renewal of electrical assets up to 132kV and electric vehicle (EV) charge points. The acquisition significantly enhances Mitie’s existing EV capabilities having already installed several thousand charge points. The acquisition of Rock complements Mitie current technical services strengths and will give Mitie distinctive high voltage capabilities and Independent Connection Provider status, supporting its delivery of green projects and enabling it to address the energy total cost of ownership of new and existing clients.

Mitie achieves health and safety excellence with RoSPA awards
Mitie has been awarded four Gold Medals by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for the strong health and safety performance of its Cleaning, Security, Waste and Landscaping businesses. Mitie has also been awarded the RoSPA President’s Award for receiving 10 consecutive Gold Awards for its performance on the Cumbria Consortium contract. The accreditation builds on Mitie’s strong quality, health, safety, and environment (QHSE) credentials.

Mitie shares electric vehicle expertise with Plan Zero Fleet Service

With a holistic viewofthe EV transition and whole life cost approach, the service will deliver a zero emissions fleet for zero cost. Mitie and Elements Green break ground at Staythorpe BESS
Mitie Power & Grid, working with international renewable energy developer Elements Green, has begun construction on the Staythorpe Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) – one of the largest in Europe. The £71.5 million project will create around 60 jobs during the build phase, deliver a 25.7% Biodiversity Net Gain, and ensure collaboration with local residents. Once complete in 2027, the 360MW/720MWh facility will store enough renewable energy to power over 95,000 homes for a full day, strengthening UK energy resilience and accelerating the transition to net zero.

Mitie has joined the Aldersgate Group, the alliance to drive action for a sustainable economy, demonstrating its commitment to fight climate change and help other organisations reach net zero.
