One in five say their employers should do more to keep them safe
Research from Mitie reveals that one in five (19%) Brits think their employers should be doing more to keep them safe. This rises to more than a quarter (27%) of those aged 18-34 and to over a third (36%) of people who work outside of traditional hours or commute in the dark. In response, Mitie has announced a package of employee wellbeing initiatives, including a pioneering partnership with personal safety app, WalkSafe, to help organisations support the personal safety of their employees.

Elements Green signs £71.5m deal with Mitie for new substation
G2 Energy, part of Mitie Power & Grid, will be the Principal Designer and Principal Contractor on one of the UK’s largest Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) near Staythorpe Power Station in the East Midlands. Mitie will lead the design and build of the new 400kV grid substation that will connect to the neighbouring National Grid Staythorpe 400kV substation by mid-2027. Over 720MWh of energy will be stored, enough to power more than 95,000 homes for a full day.

Mitie unveils sustainability and social impact-led supplier charter
Mitie has launched a new Sustainability and Social Value Supplier Charter designed to build collaboration with suppliers of all sizes to deliver lasting benefits for people, communities and the environment. The Charter focuses on five priority areas including Climate Action, Inclusive Employment and Community Engagement, supporting Mitie’s Plan Thrive goals. Mitie will work with the Supply Chain Sustainability School, which offers structured learning pathways, workshops, and supplier summits, to support suppliers on a three-year journey to a Gold-Level accreditation.

Mitie acquires connection provider Rock Power Connections Ltd
Mitie has acquired Rock Power Connections Limited, an Independent Connection Provider, specialising in the design and installation of new high voltage electricity supplies, the renewal of electrical assets up to 132kV and electric vehicle (EV) charge points. The acquisition significantly enhances Mitie’s existing EV capabilities having already installed several thousand charge points. The acquisition of Rock complements Mitie current technical services strengths and will give Mitie distinctive high voltage capabilities and Independent Connection Provider status, supporting its delivery of green projects and enabling it to address the energy total cost of ownership of new and existing clients.
