The first FM company to sign up to The Climate Group’s initiatives
Mitie has joined The Climate Group’s RE100 initiative, committing to only use 100% renewable electricity across all its sites – which Mitie has already achieved. Mitie is the eighth company in the world and first in the FM industry to join all three of The Climate Group’s initiatives – EP100, EV100 and RE100. Membership to RE100 is part of the company’s Plan Zero commitment to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2025.

Mitie supports Yorkshire Ambulance Service with new contract
Mitie has secured a new contract to deliver engineering services for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust (YAS). The new business is worth £6 million across five years, with the option to extend for a further two. Facilities Transformation leader Mitie rolls out 32 automated cobots at Europe’s largest airport. Sustainable cobots can clean area the size of eight football pitches every day with just 18 litres of water. The cobots have proved a huge hit with passengers and staff alike, providing a distraction for young passengers during check-in.

Mitie launches the Cleaning and Hygiene Centre of Excellence
Mitie has launched its new Cleaning and Hygiene Centre of Excellence, to showcase the latest innovation in cleaning science and technology. Made up of six Zones, the new Centre in Birmingham demonstrates best practice in the sector, from UV light disinfection systems and robotics, to enzyme cleaning products and sustainable paper products. Mitie Security has launched a new Global Security Operations service, integrating all of its intelligence and technology-led solutions into one integrated security offer. The service will combine Mitie’s industry-leading software, its 20,000 frontline security officers and world-class risk specialists, enabling customers to make informed security decisions. Mitie’s customers will receive real-time operational intelligence and can also opt-in to enhanced intelligence sharing with other businesses and the Police to tackle wider crime issues.
