Mitie accelerates Groupe PSA contract with £5.2m extension
Mitie secures a two-year extension to its engineering and FM contracts for Groupe PSA’s Luton and Coventry sites, building on a 10-year relationship with the vehicle manufacturer. The extension adds cleaning and waste management to the services Mitie already delivers at Groupe PSA’s sites in Luton, Toddington and Ellesmere Port.

Mitie strengthens heat pump services with former RMS team
Mitie enhances its capability to manage the design, development, installation and maintenance of heat decarbonisation solutions by bringing in-house fabrication and heat pump expertise from RMS. The move strengthens Mitie’s ability to deliver turnkey heat decarbonisation projects for private and public sector clients. Over 20 specialists from RMS will join Mitie’s Projects business as part of Mitie’s growing energy and decarbonisation portfolio including G2, Rock Power Connections and Custom Solar.

Mitie grows relationship with Scottish Government with new contract
Mitie has won a seven-year contract to provide facilities management (FM) services for 70 of the Scottish Government’s sites, including research centres and the First Minister’s residence. The services include engineering and maintenance, waste management, grounds maintenance, security, energy management and cleaning. Using its sustainability and FM expertise, Mitie will help the Scottish Government implement solutions to cut carbon emissions across all sites.

Andy Burnham unveils Mitie’s new northern technology hub
Mitie has unveiled its new Technical Services Operations Centre (TSOC) in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester, showcasing its cutting-edge workplace technology. Officially opened by Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, the TSOC is Mitie’s new Hub for the North of England. The new site marks Mitie’s significant investment in the region, with the facility supporting 400 local jobs and apprenticeships, many of which are specialist technical roles.

Mitie lands new waste contract with Nottingham NHS Trust
Mitie has secured a new three-year contract with Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust to deliver clinical waste management services. Mitie will use innovative autoclave equipment that treats waste with high pressure steam which can then be recycled, which is a more sustainable method than the traditional high temperature incineration process. Mitie’s specialist clinical waste business, Cliniwaste, will be central to the delivery of the contract.
