Mitie sails into new contract with the Port of Dover
Mitie has secured a new three-year contract with Dover Harbour Board to deliver waste management services for the Port of Dover. The contract will see Mitie support the Dover Harbour Board in its aim to minimise waste and maintain zero waste to landfill with a range of circular economy initiatives, including re-use projects for redundant furniture and eliminating single-use plastics. Dover Harbour Board will also collect detailed carbon and waste data across its entire site, through Mitie’s best-in-class waste data reporting system.

Mitie continues support for Welsh Government’s net zero goals
Following a competitive tender, Mitie has successfully retained its contract with the Welsh Government to continue to deliver Facilities Management (FM) across its 21-building administrative estate. Since the previous contract began in 2018, targeted initiatives have further reduced carbon emissions across the estate by 49%. Mitie will continue to build on this by reducing the carbon emissions by at least a further 5% over the potential life of the contract. £17.2 million will be invested into the local supply chain and the equivalent of over 16 years of apprenticeship training will be available to colleagues from the local community.

Mitie appointed as supplier to Government FM and workplace framework
Mitie has been appointed as a supplier on the Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) new RM6232 framework to provide facilities management and workplace services. This appointment gives Mitie access to bid on contracts across all government departments and public sector organisations over the next four years. The framework covers a full range of facilities management and workplace services, from waste management, cleaning and maintenance, to facilities management and security.
