Series two of The Mitie Podcast takes listeners behind the scenes

The Mitie Podcast returns for another season following the award-winning success of its debut series. The second series will explore some of UK’s most high-performing places, including Heathrow Airport, Boulby Underground Laboratory – the only deep underground science facility in the UK – and Mitie’s Intelligent Security Operations Centre (ISOC) in Northampton. The first of the four episodes is available now, with subsequent episodes to be released weekly on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Music.

Mitie’s sustainability credentials recognised with top ESG ratings

Mitie has been awarded a score of 12.5, classified as ‘low risk’, by leading ESG rating, Sustainalytics. Mitie has also been awarded a ‘Platinum Award’, the highest ranking, from the Sustainable Facilities Management Index (SFMI) – up from the ‘Gold Award’ received last year. Both the Sustainalytics and SFMI rankings place Mitie among the most sustainable businesses in the world, recognising its efforts to fight climate change and create a workplace that promotes inclusion.

Mitie awarded new £500m IFM Cumbria Consortium contract

Mitie has been awarded a new IFM contract by the Cumbria Consortium, which includes Sellafield Ltd, worth up to £500m. A five-year contract, with the option to extend for up to five more years, Mitie will be providing engineering, maintenance, cleaning, security, waste, grounds maintenance and catering services. Mitie has supported Sellafield since 2003, building on its initial cleaning contract to now provide a full IFM service across its sites, as well as other locations in Cumbria and Warrington included in the Cumbria Consortium.

This month marks the 10th anniversary of the Mitie Foundation, the independent charity focussed on providing varied life opportunities for disadvantaged groups. The Mitie Foundation is recognising the continuing success of its programmes, Ready2Work and Giving Back. Through the foundation, colleagues have been giving back to their local communities, completing over 106,800 hours of volunteering.

Mitie wins Best Company for Carbon Transition at Corporate ESG Awards

Mitie has been named the ‘Best Company for Carbon Transition’ in the mid-capacity category at ESG Investing’s Corporate ESG Awards 2023 – the only awards evaluating the best companies in all areas of ESG investing globally. Mitie has been recognised for its commitment to reaching net zero by 2025, as part of its Plan Zero pledge. Mitie pledges £1.1 million for UK engineering apprentices

Mitie has committed to gift £1.1 million of its Apprenticeship Levy funds to SMEs across England since 2021. Through this gifting, Mitie will support 70 new apprenticeships, many of which are new roles and mainly technical apprenticeships. Mitie’s apprenticeship strategy targets key skills gaps in the industry, such as committing to support 15 new Installation Engineer Apprenticeships.
