Mitie gears up for new £50m contract with Halfords Group

Mitie has been awarded a new £50 million contract for five years with cycling and motoring retailer, Halfords Group, to provide engineering maintenance services. Mitie will be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance of building equipment including heating and ventilation systems, lighting, fire alarm systems and boilers at over 950 Halfords Group sites across the UK and Ireland. Mitie will take a technology-led approach, with Halfords Group colleagues able to report maintenance requirements through Mitie’s Aria app and site managers gaining full oversight of jobs through Mitie’s Mozaic software.

Mitie’s Security Radar shows rise in incidents amid evolving threats

Over half (56%) of senior security professionals report a rise in physical security incidents over the past 12 months, with almost three fifths saying the cost-of-living crisis (59%) and social unrest (54%) are main reasons for increased risk. In the last year, the number of organisations using advanced technology and AI has jumped from fewer than a quarter (22%) to over half (59%) including intruder detection systems, threat intelligence and security drones. Three fifths (60%) believe collaboration between the public and private sectors has increased in the last 18 months and almost half (47%) say their organisations are collaborating with industry peers to improve security measures and share best practice.
