Mitie Plan Zero BoltONs: Accelerating your net zero journey
Mitie has launched its new Plan Zero BoltON packages, offering simple solutions such as remote building management, lighting optimisation, solar power, and electric vehicle (EV) charge point infrastructure to help organisations reach their net zero targets. The packages can be easily scaled and rolled out as single, multiple or combined modules to suit different types of buildings. Mitie will cover the initial costs of equipment, such as solar panels or EV charge points, with customers only charged a monthly subscription fee once the installation has been completed.

Mitie will provide maintenance, cleaning and grounds maintenance services to Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK’s plant in Derbyshire. Contract marks a European first for Toyota with the outsourcing of an integrated Facilities Management service.

Mitie will provide engineering, front of house and mail services as part of the multi-service facilities management framework agreement. Contract will cover 200 buildings from Aberdeen to Plymouth.

Mitie retains MoD Gold Award for defence community commitment
Mitie has been revalidated as a Gold Award recipient on the Ministry of Defence’s (MoD) Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) for a further five years, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community. Since first receiving the Gold Level accreditation in 2020, Mitie has supported over 1,000 colleagues in its Military Network through career guidance, employment opportunities and charity initiatives. Mitie’s Military Network provides a platform for its military community to connect with like-minded people and the tools to support ex-military colleagues.

Mitie lands contract extensions at four UK airports
Mitie has extended its relationship with four UK airports – Manchester, East Midlands, London Stansted and Belfast City Airport – until March 2025, underpinning its sector expertise in the Aviation sector. The services include security, screening, cleaning, technical services and waste operations across the busy sites, keeping these functional, clean and safe for the millions of passengers they welcome each year. These contract extensions build on the strong and long-standing partnership between Mitie and the airports.

Mitie achieves 30% EV target, three months ahead of schedule
Mitie has achieved its target of converting 30% of its fleet to electric vehicles by March 2022 – three months ahead of schedule. With cars, vans, and even gritters, Mitie now has more than 2,000 pure electric vehicles on the road. These vehicles create an annual saving of around 10,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.

Mitie’s 250th electric vehicle delivered to Heathrow Airport
Mitie’s 250th electric vehicle – a Nissan e-NV200 van – is on the roads at Heathrow, supporting the airport’s goal to establish an airside ultra-low emissions zone by 2025 and become a zero-carbon airport. The van joins the 200 electric cars and 49 electric vans already part of the Mitie fleet – 17 of which are based at the Airport. Charge point infrastructure and model availability continue to be biggest barriers to electric vehicle rollout.

Mitie marks one year of Plan Zero with new sustainability pledges
Mitie has marked the first anniversary of Plan Zero with new sustainability pledges for its fleet, energy use and waste in 2021. Mitie has also committed to setting science-based targets with the science-based targets initiative and has pledged to reach net-zero for its Scope 3 emissions – suppliers, employee commuting and working from home – by 2035. New sustainable solutions, such as energy saving robot vacuums, will be trialled in Mitie sites in 2021.

Mitie secures five-year integrated FM contract with Royal London Group, with option to extend for a further two years. Contract covers a number of services, including engineering, cleaning, waste management, security, helpdesk, front of house and remote monitoring solutions. Mitie will deploy its market leading technology solutions to help Royal London optimise its workspace layout, achieve its sustainability objectives and improve energy efficiency.
