Mitie wins contract to provide security to the DWP estate

Mitie has been appointed by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to provide the largest security workforce within the Government estate, alongside building and operating a 24/7 Security Control Centre. The Security Guarding contract is valued at £136m per year over the 7-year initial term alongside a £3m per year Security Control Centre contract, initially running for a term of 5 years. Mitie will use DWP’s strategic risk-based deployment model providing a physical security presence at Jobcentres and other DWP buildings to enable a safe environment and deter violence, complemented by 24/7 remote monitoring.

Mitie awarded £150m IFM contract extension with St George’s NHS trust

Mitie awarded £150 million long term contract till 2030. Contract includes cleaning, patient catering, facilities helpdesk and waste services for over one million patients per year at St George’s Hospital in Tooting. Staff to benefit with a wage increase to match at least the London Living Wage. Mitie will enhance services by implementing new technology.

Mitie accelerates EV strategy as first electric vans hit the roads

Mitie’s first electric vans hit the roads. Nearly 100 electric cars have already been rolled out to employees in just four months. Mitie will switch 20% of its car and small van fleet to electric by 2020 as part of plans to build the UK’s largest fleet of electric vehicles.
