Mitie installs 850+ EV chargers across the UK and Ireland
Mitie has installed over 850 electric vehicle (EV) charge points for customers across the UK and Ireland, with 10 installed at Royal London’s office in Alderley Park. Using its sustainability and fleet management expertise, Mitie is also helping Royal London maintain and manage its EV charge point infrastructure to support its decarbonisation goals. These customer charge points are in addition to over 1,000 EV chargers already installed at Mitie’s own sites and at its employees’ homes, to support the switch of its entire fleet of vehicles to electric.

Mitie marks major milestone in Plan Zero journey as it welcomes 4,000th electric vehicle
Mitie has welcomed the 4,000th electric vehicle (EV) to its fleet. The vehicle was unveiled by local MP and Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on EVs, Matt Western, at National Grid’s Warwick headquarters. The milestone marks a major step in Mitie’s road to net zero as it continues to lead the way in sustainable transport.

Mitie lays-out roadmap for a net zero carbon estate by 2025
Mitie has announced its roadmap to decarbonise all its sites across the UK, committing to achieve its first four net zero sites this year. An additional 14 sites are planned to be decarbonised every year until 2025, when Mitie will have an entirely net zero estate. Mitie has also committed to energy optimisations equivalent to saving 26 tonnes of CO2 a year and investing in energy efficiency measures such as LED lighting, insulation and upgrading old equipment.

Mitie charges forward on electrical works for new MYTILINEOS project
Mitie has secured a new project with MYTILINEOS Energy & Metals, to deliver electrical grid connection works for a solar PV development site in Leicestershire. The £4m project will be undertaken by Mitie’s G2 Energy business and will see the company deliver a range of services including site surveying, designing, cable jointing, and network cable installations. The project is expected to generate enough electricity to serve 18,000 homes and save approximately 16,000 tonnes of carbon emissions a year.

Mitie drives fleet past 1,000 EVs with first zero emission large van
Mitie has welcomed its first zero emission large van – a Vauxhall Vivaro-e. This takes Mitie’s electric fleet, believed to be the largest in the UK, past 1,000 vehicles. The new van is the first of 655 Vivaro-e’s on order for delivery this year, as Mitie pushes ahead with its commitment to have 2,021 EVs by the end of 2021.
