Mitie teams up with Crimestoppers to help keep communities safe

Mitie Security has partnered with the charity Crimestoppers to help keep communities safe across the UK by encouraging anonymous crime reporting. The partnership is the first of its kind, with Mitie sharing anonymous data on criminal behaviour to create incident reports to support police investigations. With crime affecting businesses, families and communities in the UK countryside, the initiative will start by focusing on rural crime by creating a dedicated cross-industry Steering Committee.

‘Future of Roads’ Minister unveils Mitie’s 6,000th electric vehicle

Mitie finds FM is a natural career match for ex-military personnel

Mitie’s first report into how the facilities management (FM) industry supports armed forces veterans shows the sector is a good career fit, with over two thirds (70%) of former servicemen and women saying FM roles match their skill set. More than three quarters (77%) of veterans would recommend a career in FM to other armed forces leavers. Though 50% of veterans say it was a challenge to find work after leaving the military, four in five (84%) managers say veterans are likely to possess the skills most urgently needed in the sector.

Mitie welcomes new learners on Security Level 2 Apprenticeship

Mitie confirms a cohort of 30 learners are set to enrol on the Professional Security Operative (PSO) Level 2 Apprenticeship which was launched today. The new apprenticeship standard will offer specialised training and development opportunities for people in the early stages of their security career. Mitie has welcomed applications from colleagues from all walks of life, including colleagues already working in the industry as well as newcomers from other areas of the business.

Mitie wins two multimillion pound contracts with National Grid

Mitie has secured two new multimillion pound contracts to deliver hard and soft facilities management services for National Grid, the owner of the UK’s electricity network. During the five-year contracts, Mitie will provide a range of services including engineering, maintenance, asset management, cleaning, security, and project work. Mitie will deliver these services at over 260 sites nationwide.

Mitie secures new contract with Department for Transport

Mitie has been awarded a new £297 million contract with the Department for Transport (DfT) following a competitive procurement process. Building on its existing 12-year partnership with DfT, Mitie will deliver integrated facilities management (IFM) services including cleaning, security, energy management and planned and reactive building maintenance across over 800 of DfT’s sites nationwide. The new contract will see Mitie introduce innovative technology to support DfT in meeting its decarbonisation goals.
