Mitie has been named the ‘Best Company for Carbon Transition’ in the mid-capacity category at ESG Investing’s Corporate ESG Awards 2023 – the only awards evaluating the best companies in all areas of ESG investing globally. Mitie has been recognised for its commitment to reaching net zero by 2025, as part of its Plan Zero pledge. This follows the release of Mitie’s ESG Report 2023, showing significant positive progress in its ESG strategy.

Mitie exceeds electric vehicle target with milestone EV delivery

Mitie has delivered its 750th electric vehicle (EV) – racing past its 20% by 2020 target, three months ahead of schedule. The Plan Zero commitment will see Mitie switch the rest of its fleet to zero emission vehicles by 2025. Mitie will share its expertise and support more businesses in switching with its Plan Zero Fleet Transition Service.

Mitie lands maintenance contract with Metropolitan Police Service

Mitie has secured a four-year contract with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) to deliver planned and reactive engineering services across its entire estate. Responsible for the upkeep of critical building infrastructure across 209 sites, Mitie will play a crucial role in supporting London’s police service. All engineers on the contract will use electric vehicles as part of Mitie’s commitment to supporting the MPS’ decarbonisation targets.
