Wave of WFH fatigue hits the UK: 43% of workers affected
More than half (52%) of British employees currently working from home (WFH) are ready to return to the office, with 43% admitting to WFH fatigue. Over a third (35%) are still concerned that their offices are not COVID secure. Better ventilation systems, increased cleaning regimes, and technology like ultraviolet disinfection systems and desk booking apps are all on the list of measures employees want to see in their workplaces.

Mitie kicks off facilities management contract with Swansea University
Mitie has kicked off a new five-year contract to deliver facilities management services – including cleaning, waste management and grounds maintenance – for Swansea University. The contract, which has the option to extend for up to four more years, is worth £2.4 million a year and will see Mitie deliver services for all of the University’s buildings. Using its sustainability and waste management expertise, Mitie has committed to only using cleaning products with reduced packaging as well as helping Swansea University cut waste across all of its sites.

Time and cost spent on carbon reporting leading to decarbonisation delays
Seven out of ten (70%) sustainability leaders believe that the time and cost spent on reporting admin has driven decarbonisation delay as resource constraints are hampering action on sustainability goals. Over half (55%) say that too much admin is involved in sustainability reporting with over a third (37%) looking to outsource it. Sustainability leaders also say the volume of reporting is increasing pressure with two thirds (66%) now publishing an external sustainability report that is separate to their annual report, as well as reporting to external regulatory frameworks.
