Mitie boosts security intelligence offering with Esoteric Limited

Mitie has acquired Esoteric Limited, a small, niche provider of leading counter espionage and specialist surveillance countermeasure services. The acquisition builds on Mitie’s risk analysis and intelligence capabilities; its industry-leading technology; and presence of Security Operatives. The acquisition of Esoteric will enhance Mitie’s position as the UK’s largest provider of security services to businesses.

Mitie docks contract extension with Associated British Ports

Mitie has secured an extension to its contract with Associated British Ports (ABP) for a further year. The contract sees Mitie deliver a range of security services to 17 ports across the UK. Mitie also supports ABP with its sustainability commitments, including the installation of a large-scale solar PV project at the Port of Southampton.

Mitie awarded Disability Confident Leader status

Mitie has been awarded Disability Confident Level 3 – Leader status, the highest level of the UK Government’s Disability Confident scheme, recognising its leadership in disability inclusion. Led by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the Disability Confident scheme supports employers to recruit, retain and develop disabled people and those with long-term health conditions. The recognition demonstrates how disability inclusion underpins Mitie’s wider commitments to supporting people facing barriers to employment into sustainable work.

60 bright sparks join Mitie’s apprenticeship charge

Mitie has welcomed 60 new apprentices as part of its #SignupSkillup programme, which focuses on recruiting individuals at the start of their career into apprenticeships. The new recruits are based throughout the UK, from Plymouth to Glasgow, and hold a variety of roles, including electrical and building services, project management, quantity surveying, business administration, and customer service. As a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer and member of the 5% Club, Mitie is committed to investing in the skills of its people through apprenticeships.
