Mitie secures spot on the Crown Commercial Service’s Healthcare Soft FM Services Framework

Mitie has been appointed to the Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) Healthcare Soft Facilities Management (FM) Services Framework agreement to support the delivery of FM services to the NHS and other healthcare organisations. Under this framework agreement, Mitie will be able to bid for contracts across 12 lots of services covering cleaning (both general and ambulance cleaning), catering, landscaping, and waste management services. This follows Mitie’s recent appointment as supplier on the NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) Sustainable Transport and Infrastructure framework agreement.

Mitie and Zestec drive renewable energy initiative at LEGOLAND

Mitie is installing a solar carport at LEGOLAND® Windsor, developed and financed under Zestec Renewable Energy’s contract with Merlin Attractions Operations, generating over 1.1 million kWh annually and saving 195 tonnes of carbon emissions each year. The solar energy will power the Legoland Resort and its new Woodland Village – LEGOLAND® Windsor and Merlin Entertainments’ first operationally carbon-neutral guest accommodation – and provide shaded parking for guests. The project reflects Mitie and Zestec’s ongoing relationship to develop sustainable infrastructure and commitments to decarbonise the UK’s built environment.

Workers excited to return to the office over Christmas period

Over half of workers (54%) say they are excited to be back in the office this festive season after two years of disruption due to COVID, with nearly two thirds of people (64%) appreciating the festive cheer in the office even more after the pandemic. Tucking into treats, decorating desks, wearing festive jumpers, and catching up with colleagues ahead of the break are all among the best things about the office at Christmas time. More than half (53%) of office workers say they love sharing festive cheer with colleagues and a similar number (51%) love the feeling of their workplace at this time of year.

Mitie has awarded an extra day of holiday to over 25,000 Mitie colleagues as a thank you for their work during COVID-19. A number of new benefits have also been introduced to ensure Mitie employees have access to the health and well-being support they need to deal with the Coronavirus pandemic.
