The new managed carbon reporting and reduction service will enable organisations to have confidence that they are on track to achieve their net zero commitments and comply with regulation. Combining Mitie’s built environment and energy management expertise with Salesforce’s market-leading Net Zero Cloud ESG management platform, the end-to-end service streamlines and simplifies carbon data collection, reporting and reduction. ‘Emissions Intelligence’ is the latest addition to Mitie’s ‘Plan Zero’, a suite of services to support organisations to decarbonise, improve efficiency and secure their energy supply.

Mitie’s Net Zero Navigator 2024 reveals decarbonisation predictions

Mitie’s latest 2024 Net Zero Navigator report reveals that a third (33%) of companies are still not confident about predicting their energy usage despite the use of technology. Mitie, Zestec and Merlin Entertainments to deliver solar carport

Custom Solar, part of Mitie, and Zestec have partnered with Merlin Entertainments to deliver a 1.2MW solar carport at LEGOLAND® Windsor, producing over 1.1m kWh of clean power annually and cutting over 190 tonnes of carbon emissions per year. The solar carport now supplies onsite renewable electricity directly to the resort and improves guest experience with shaded parking. The project demonstrates Custom Solar’s ability to deliver large scale, on site renewable infrastructure, reducing grid reliance and supporting lower carbon, more resilient operations in visitor environments.

Mitie appointed as supplier to Government FM and workplace framework

Mitie has been appointed as a supplier on the Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) new RM6232 framework to provide facilities management and workplace services. This appointment gives Mitie access to bid on contracts across all government departments and public sector organisations over the next four years. The framework covers a full range of facilities management and workplace services, from waste management, cleaning and maintenance, to facilities management and security.

Mitie cuts Lloyds Banking Group’s carbon with electric heating system

Mitie has helped Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) to reduce emissions at its Halifax headquarters with a new ground source heat pump. The new heat pump will save up to 6,292,112 kWh of gas consumption, reducing LBG’s carbon emissions by up to 1,164 tonnes, equivalent to the amount of CO2 produced from the annual energy use of 143 homes [1]. The decarbonisation project is part of LBG’s long-term investment in modernising its estate and reaching its net zero operations target by 2030.

Mitie has welcomed the former G2 energy team, specialists in high voltage electrical and civil engineering, to its business. More than 40 members of the former G2 energy team will be joining Mitie, building on its existing energy, decarbonisation and high voltage electrical engineering services. Mitie has acquired various assets of the former G2 energy business (which went into liquidation on 3rd July).
