Mitie invests in future UK talent donating £2 million in Apprenticeship Levy gifting pledges
Mitie has pledged £2 million in Apprenticeship Levy gifting funds, supporting a range of organisations across the UK to develop future talent. With a targeted approach to gifting, since 2021 Mitie has been supporting local communities, groups with barriers to employment, and smaller organisations in the industries it works in. Mitie’s most recent collaboration is with the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership to support apprenticeship schemes for women in STEM roles.

Mitie pioneers work policies to support better work-life balance
Mitie has introduced two key policy changes to support better work-life balance for its colleagues. Mitie colleagues will now benefit from the early implementation of enhanced flexible working and carer’s leave policies almost a year ahead of them becoming statutory requirements in the UK. This decision, which was championed by Mitie’s own colleague network of Parents & Carers, demonstrates Mitie’s commitment to giving colleagues a voice.

Mitie and the University of Cambridge team-up to fight retail crime
Mitie has partnered with University of Cambridge criminologists to undertake cutting-edge research into retail crime to help businesses reduce cases of theft and violence against shopworkers. The partnership is the first of its kind in the UK and is part of Mitie’s commitment to work with public and private sectors organisations to fight crime. With retail crime rising across the UK, the initiative will help keep shopworkers and customers safe.

Mitie makes a splash with new Yorkshire Water contract
Mitie has been awarded a new three-year contract to deliver grounds maintenance services for Yorkshire Water. As part of the contract Mitie will deliver landscaping services including grass cutting, hedge maintenance, tree management, weed control, adverse weather services, and sustainable drainage systems management. Mitie will bring its ‘Live Landscapes’ intelligent technology to the contract.
