Mitie sows the seeds of biodiverse landscapes with flowering lawn trials
Mitie has introduced two flowering lawn trials in Leuchars, Scotland and Dudley. A middle ground between traditional grass and wildflower meadows, flowering lawns provide a biodiverse, neat, and easy to maintain solution for commercial landscapes. The trials are taking place across two locations and have been cultivated using three methods, in order to determine the best technique for different climates.

Mitie secures £250m Sellafield contract
Mitie has been awarded a contract to deliver Sellafield’s new Integrated Asset Care (IAC) framework as a 50/50 partnership with Jacobs, under the OneAim joint venture. The five year contract will be worth up to £250m and will see Mitie deliver specialist services such as the installation and maintenance of the site’s infrastructure and equipment. This contract builds on a long-standing relationship between Mitie and Sellafield, with the partnership spanning nearly 20 years.

Mitie helps accelerate Environment Agency’s EV plan with new contract
Mitie has secured a new contract to install electric vehicle (EV) charge points for the Environment Agency, a delivery body of DEFRA, building on its existing facilities management support. The £4.5 million contract will see Mitie install and operate around 450 EV charge points at more than 100 locations. With an initial contract term of two years, with the option to extend for three more, the charging points will help the Environment Agency accelerate its EV rollout across the UK and contribute to its net zero ambitions.

Mitie awarded £26 million contract with AstraZeneca
Mitie has secured a new £26 million contract at AstraZeneca’s Macclesfield campus in Cheshire. The contract will see Mitie deliver mechanical and electrical maintenance, reactive engineering services and energy management. The partnership includes a focus on people and skills, with investment in apprenticeships, training and long-term workforce development.
