As part of the new contract renewal, Mitie will continue to provide vetting services including digital identity verification, right to work and CV checks, as well as verifying employment and education history. Mitie ranks 16th in Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers 2025
Mitie has been recognised as a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer 2025 by the Department for Education (DFE) and RateMyApprenticeship for the fourth consecutive year. This ranking reflects Mitie’s investment into apprenticeships, with over 1,600 apprentices across the business. This recognition follows a number of developments within Mitie’s apprenticeship programmes, including its recently launched AI apprenticeship programme.

Mitie pilots virtual SIA accreditation in security industry first
Mitie is the first Security company to pilot online SIA accredited security guarding course. Six Security Officers have already completed their online training and received their SIA accreditation, with 50 more scheduled to complete over the coming weeks. Mitie Security launches UK’s first Store Detective qualification
Mitie has launched the security industry’s first specialist Store Detective qualification, a Level 3 certificate which is equivalent to an A Level. Including five mandatory modules, colleagues will learn every aspect of working as a retail Store Detective, including gathering evidence and legal requirements. Mitie will put at least 50 colleagues through the training a year, starting with existing Store Detectives before expanding to its Security Officers.

Mitie wins two multimillion pound contracts with National Grid
Mitie has secured two new multimillion pound contracts to deliver hard and soft facilities management services for National Grid, the owner of the UK’s electricity network. During the five-year contracts, Mitie will provide a range of services including engineering, maintenance, asset management, cleaning, security, and project work. Mitie will deliver these services at over 260 sites nationwide.

Mitie has won a competitive retender with Cornerstone, securing a new five-and-a-half-year contract. The contract covers maintenance and engineering for 20,000 telecoms assets, including every O2 and Vodafone cell site in the UK.
