Mitie kicks off facilities management contract with Swansea University

Mitie has kicked off a new five-year contract to deliver facilities management services – including cleaning, waste management and grounds maintenance – for Swansea University. The contract, which has the option to extend for up to four more years, is worth £2.4 million a year and will see Mitie deliver services for all of the University’s buildings. Using its sustainability and waste management expertise, Mitie has committed to only using cleaning products with reduced packaging as well as helping Swansea University cut waste across all of its sites.

Mitie secures new multi-million pound IFM contract with BAE Systems

Mitie has secured a new multi-million pound contract to provide integrated facilities management services to BAE Systems, covering 26 sites across the UK. A five-year contract, with the option to extend for a further two years, Mitie will provide a full suite of FM services, including building maintenance, cleaning, reception, waste management, landscaping, mailroom, and energy management. Mitie will also bring its industry leading technology to the contract.

Elements Green signs £71.5m deal with Mitie for new substation

G2 Energy, part of Mitie Power & Grid, will be the Principal Designer and Principal Contractor on one of the UK’s largest Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) near Staythorpe Power Station in the East Midlands. Mitie will lead the design and build of the new 400kV grid substation that will connect to the neighbouring National Grid Staythorpe 400kV substation by mid-2027. Over 720MWh of energy will be stored, enough to power more than 95,000 homes for a full day.

Mitie wins contract for UK’s all-electric Immigration Removal Centre

Mitie has been awarded a six-year contract with the Home Office to run the new Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre (IRC). Mitie colleagues will oversee the everyday running of the IRC including Custody & Detention and Welfare services, whilst preparations are made for residents’ removal from the UK. Campsfield will house 400 residents and will be the first all-electric IRC in the UK.

Mitie secures extension to clean Scotland’s best loved landmarks

Mitie has secured a five-year contract extension with Historic Environment Scotland following a nine-year partnership. Contract includes the specialist cleaning of Edinburgh Castle, Scotland’s leading paid for tourist attraction. Sustainability will be a core focus of the contract with Mitie introducing the first electric vehicle at Edinburgh Castle.

Mitie has won a three-year contract to deliver security services for Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK’s leading ports group. The contract will see Mitie deliver security services, including staffed guarding and passenger searches and screening, for all of ABP’s 21 ports in England, Scotland and Wales.

Mitie lands maintenance contract with Metropolitan Police Service

Mitie has secured a four-year contract with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) to deliver planned and reactive engineering services across its entire estate. Responsible for the upkeep of critical building infrastructure across 209 sites, Mitie will play a crucial role in supporting London’s police service. Mitie steps-up support for COVID test centres with new contract win

Mitie steps-up its support for the UK’s Coronavirus test centres with a new one-year contract worth up to £365 million. The contract will include over 175 Regional and Local Test Sites and more than 100 Mobile Testing Units (MTUs) across the UK. Since April 2020, Mitie has been delivering cleaning, clinical waste management and security services, such as traffic management and lane support, for 138 test centres.
