Whistleblowing

Share any concerns through our confidential whistleblowing service.

Have you ever witnessed something in a Mitie workspace that concerned you, but didn’t know who to tell?

Sometimes actions that can affect personal wellbeing or damage company reputations can be overlooked due to uncertainty or fear of repercussion. But we’re committed to building a culture where our people are encouraged to share any concerns in a protected way.

That’s why we created our independent Speak Up whistleblowing service, open to both Mitie employees, stakeholders and members of the public – to make sure our environments remain safe and transparent. It’s a vital line of communication that’s designed to help us all uphold Mitie’s values of ethics, respect and responsibility.

If you see something, Speak Up

If you see something you feel could be illegal, unethical, dangerous or damaging to the environment, speak up. You can raise concerns confidentially about anything including:

  • Bribery and corruption
  • Illegal workers
  • Theft
  • Fraud
  • Poor working conditions
  • Health and safety issues
  • Environmental damage
  • Cover-ups

If you have something to report, you can call our 24-hour hotline – managed by our independent partner, EthicsPoint – or use our online portal.

Our service supports multiple languages, and we can even provide a translator so you can be sure your concerns are heard and understood.

We know how important privacy is in situations like these, so all reports can be filed anonymously (subject to your country’s laws). However, we encourage you to disclose your identity since investigating reports becomes more challenging, and in some circumstances impossible, when they are made anonymously.

If you’re unsure if your grievance is covered under Speak Up, you can always contact us to find out. If you’re a Mitie employee, you can also refer to your Employee Handbook or MiNet to see if your concerns can be addressed through existing HR procedures.

What happens next?

The information you give us will be recorded into a case management system and, depending on the nature of your concerns, will typically be handled by an impartial member of Legal, HR and/or Internal Audit teams.

Once you have completed your report (online or by phone) you will be provided with a reference number so that later you can provide additional information or check the progress on your report.

See something. Speak up. Follow up.
